An excellent compilation
This is an excellent compilation of Tony Joe White's three albums recorded for Warner Brothers:
Tony Joe White (1971)
The Train I'm On (1972)
and
Homemade icecream (1973)
The music is classic Tony Joe – swamp blues with all the influences that implies, played and sung superbly and still sounding great over 40 years on. The transfers are good and the sound quality seems excellent to me.
Not much more need be said, I think. Tony Joe White is one of the unsung greats whose music endures and who is loved by a quiet legion of fans. This is a fine sample of it, and warmly recommended.
(I would also warmly recommend Tony Joe's 2013 album Hoodoo.)
